The first step is to find whatever texture/resource pack you want to use. You can just look it up, but the site I usually use is minecraftsix.com.

Once you’ve downloaded the pack you want, it should show up in the bottom left corner of your screen.

You can just keep your browser open and leave it where it is for now.

Next, you want to find your resource packs folder. To do that, open your file explorer and select “This PC” and search “.minecraft” then open the “.minecraft” folder.

Capture

Once it’s open, find and open the “resourcepacks” folder.

You can see that I already have a few installed.

Now, just drag the folder from your browser and into the folder.

That’s it! That’s the resource pack installed!

Now, you just load your game.

load

Go to “Options.”

Open “Resource Packs” and you should see your downloaded packs on the left, and the packs that you’re using on the right.

When you mouse over a pack an arrow will appear, and you just click that to either turn the pack on or off.

(when it’s highlighted in red, it just means that it was made for an older version of Minecraft, but it’ll still work)

And, if you want to, you can even combine packs! For instance, if I like all of the textures in one pack, but not the glass, I can just get another pack for the glass and put it on top of the other pack.
